Dos Vistas is comprised of approximately 6400 sq. meters of land. It is bordered on one side by the pacific ocean and its
beaches... and on the other by an estuary.
The road into the property runs along the beach on a dirt and gravel road (Which is well maintained), lined with coconut
palms on both sides. While there are homes all along the beach, there is a mixture of million dollar homes and Tico "weekend
retreats", and smaller homes that are literally hanging together with nails and baling wire AND there is always a smaller
amount of new, ongoing construction.
Playa Palo Seco is at the south end of the town of Parrita and, up until last year, separated from the town by a one land
bridge which was built in the 60s by the U.S. Peace Corps (Primarily out of railroad ties!). A new, four lane bridge was just
completed as a part of the new coastal highway which was also completed last year. Thus Palo Seco was essentially cut off
from many of the other more expensive beaches such as Esterillos, Bandera, and Bejuco.
Palo Seco, while acknowledged as having the most beautiful beach in the area has always been neglected because of the
road and logistical difficulties. The beach is popular and always in demand for rentals but it does not draw the crowds as the
others previously did... simply because of past difficulties. Playa Palo Seco is the longest beach in the country and is only
one of a very few where both sunsets and sunrises can be seen.
Playa Palo Seco, because of the beach on one side and the estuary on the other (Which has miles of canals for exploration...
originally established for transport of bananas decades ago) is totally unique and one of a kind. The estuary offers some of
the finest fishing in the country and a record snook was caught there last year... and shrimping is plentiful and common.
This area, where Dos Vistas is located... is magical.
If you see it... you will fall in love.
